From Engine Rooms to Investment Plans
For 10 years, I worked as a Chief Engineer on oil and chemical tankers—the senior role capping 20 years at sea altogether. Engine rooms taught me what it means to operate where a missed check or delayed decision has real, immediate consequences. Every system is monitored, every risk accounted for, every plan followed through.
That discipline is what pulled me toward financial planning. Markets will always have noise—the next hot sector, the next panic headline—but what builds wealth over time is a clear plan, followed consistently and reviewed on a schedule rather than in reaction to the news.
I am pursuing the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) certification and work as an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor. I built this practice because I saw many professionals, NRIs and fellow seafarers investing without a plan—just scattered SIPs and tips from friends, with no goal attached to any of it.
